Special moment for resident Poomjaeng
Star Snooker Academy would like to congratulate Thai resident Dechawat Poomjaeng on making his first ever maximum break in competition today. The 147 break, which came earlier in his 5-3 defeat of Zak Surety, is only the 101st in snooker history. World Snooker's article on the event can be found below;
Dechawat has been training hard in the build-up to the German Masters and Haikou Open Qualifiers and isn't the only academy resident benefiting from the extra pratice, with fellow Thai player Ratchayothin beating the experienced Martin Gould 5-4 and Indian Open Finalist Aditya Mehta coming through 5-0 against China's Li Yan.
