Charismatic resident to join legends
He's no stranger to the limelight, having won over the Crucible fans at the last World Championships and making his first tournament maximum last week, so no doubt Thai's Dechawat Poomjaeng will be relishing the prospect of playing in front of a 10+ million strong TV audience in next year's ''Legends Cup''. Dechawat was announced today as part of the Rest of the World team, captained by none other than 7 times World Champion Stephen Hendry. Captaining England and Northern Ireland will be 'The Whirlwind' Jimmy White and joining him, straight from the jungle, 'The Nugget' Steve Davis. Here's what Poomjaeng had to say about the news:
“I am very happy to play in Stephen Hendry’s team at Legends Cup. I know the Hexagon Theatre in Reading was once a famous snooker venue so nice to see and meet the fans there, also be good to see some fans from Thailand”
...and how other academy players see Dechawat:
''He is very excitable all the time and is the life and soul of the academy.''
The annual event is sure to be a unique and exciting one and takes place at the Hexagon in Reading, running over the weekend beginning Saturday 24th May. For more information visit: http://www.snookerlegends.co.uk/
